WALL ART INSPIRED BY SCIENCE
This piece of wall art features a patent by Mr. Clarence Fender from 1956. He invented a tremolo device for the guitar that allowed the pitch of the string being played to move up and down by depressing a lever near the pickguard. His invention is sometimes affectionately referred to as the "whammy bar". Clarence would go on to write some of the greatest guitar songs of the 1900's like "Johnny B. Goode" and "Cat Scratch Fever"... just kidding. Those were written by Chuck Berry and Ted Nugent.
The 6-string acoustic guitar was invented in the 1800's. Previously, 4 strings were used similar to its ancestor the lute and vihuela. In the late 1930's, the electric guitar was invented. This allowed a solid piece of wood to be used for the body and the sound to be amplified without feedback from the acoustic body and sound hole.
